Vince & Vania…
…founded The Hippie Chickpea in Montpelier, Vermont, in 2018, creating a welcoming restaurant built around flavorful, locally sourced food for everyone, regardless of dietary needs.
After careers in hotels and restaurants on both coasts, including Vince's role as Executive Chef at Andaz 5th Avenue and later teaching culinary arts in California, they were inspired by Vermont's farms, community, and way of life to build something of their own.
On July 11, 2023, catastrophic flooding devastated Montpelier, destroying the restaurant they had poured their hearts into.
The future
Looking ahead, Vince and Vania are excited to bring The Hippie Chickpea’s food back to the community in new ways. They plan to offer their locally made products in stores while continuing to share their passion for food through cooking classes, special experiences, and private dinners.
They also hope to welcome guests to Vermont through intimate lodging experiences for groups of up to four people, creating opportunities to connect over good food, meaningful conversations, and the beauty of the region they love.
